Feb 19 - 25, 2019

Merriwa, Western Australia

This was a pretty good week; we had a busy one.

Nothing really new as to people we are teaching, although we do have a part-member family that just moved into our area from the Butler Ward.  So, we are working with them now and trying to introduce them to as many members as we can. The dad is less active and the mom is keen to be baptized with their little 10-year-old daughter.  Hopefully, we can meet with them this week.  Otherwise, the work we've been doing has really been following up on the list that Bishop has given us.

SO - in other news, Elder Cheek and I are now no longer in a trio.  There was an emergency transfer and Elder Tilivarua has gone down to Dianella Zone to die. So sad, but it's good to be able to do the work with two - three is indeed a crowd at times, especially when you are teaching and finding.  Elder Hampel and his Golden are now in our ward again, and sisters have taken the Alkimos area.  That's about it.

This has been a fantastic week!

This week, we said goodbye to Elder Hampel; he was transferred up to the Alkimos area, so he is now my District Leader, and he is training.  But we also have a new Elder with us, Elder Tilivarua, from FIJI!!! He is the man; I love having him with us.  This is his last transfer, so we will be killing him off.  But he isn't trunky at all.

Saying goodbye to Elder Hampel. For the second time!

Saying hello to Elder Tilivarua.

This week, we had a few meetings with the high councilor over missionary work in the stake, and we spoke about how the members and the missionaries can work together better.  So, all the bishops in the wards are going to give the missionaries in their wards a list of part members, less-active members, potential elders, and families without a current temple recommend. Then we will head out, under the direction of the bishop, and visit these families, hint at them coming to church, and see if there is anyone they know that would be keen to learn the gospel.  Already, in the Rockingham Stake, a companionship of missionaries have found two people who may be put on date for baptism...

We also had a fun Sacrament Meeting this week.  We had a visitor pop in who started screaming and running up and down all the aisles and smacking people. Then, as some of the members tried ushering him out, he ran up to the stand and started to attack the lady who was speaking. But, the Bishop and his first counselor were all over it; they both took an arm and basically carried him out.

Otherwise, not much else to report.

This was pretty short, ya know, just a few days. Not much to report on.

HOWEVER!! We have been visiting a lot of members and have gotten a few referrals... We have a dinner appointment with the Elders Quorum President tonight and will ask him what we can do to help the Elders Quorum with their missionary work (on assignment from the bishop).  We have also been working in Elder Hampel's area and have found a few new people to teach and a few part members that they can work with when he gets his new companion next transfer.

Otherwise, we had Zone Conference, and Elder Cheek and I gave a short training. Also, we found heaps of Golden Orb spiders and have pictures attached.
