And He's Off!

Salt Lake City Airport

Elder Kleven called from the airport this evening. We had about three minutes each to speak with him, so we have only a few bullet points to share from our conversation(s):

• He's traveling with ten other missionaries.  
• His travel route is to Los Angeles, Sydney, and then Perth, all of which will take about 25 hours. 
• He'll cross the International Date Line on his way there, so he skips a day. 
• On the train trip from Provo to the airport, he met a man who served in Perth and told him how wonderful it is there and how much he's going to love everything about it.  
• His luggage came in under the maximum weight limit, so he was pretty relieved. 
• He'll email once he lands in Perth and is give the opportunity to connect from the mission home or office. 
• He loved his stay at the MTC, said it was great.
• While serving as a Zone Leader, he was responsible to coordinate lessons and Sacrament meeting between the Branch President and the District Leaders. He described the position as a "middle man." 
• While in the MTC, he had the opportunity to give blessings to three elders. 
• He's incredibly excited and ready to serve.   
• He has more to share and more photos from the MTC, but we won't get those until some future date.
