Cockburn, Western Australia

Sunset in Western Australia

This was a good week.  Every week is a good week on the mission.  Even though it's only been four days since I last emailed, HEAPS happened, but I can only remember two events.

The Elders in Thornlie Ward had a baptism on Friday night, which just so happened to be the day we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders.  So, we were able to go along to the baptism.  But when we got there, the font wasn't filled.  It wasn't filled because no one could stop the drain -- there was no plug -- so, we had to go find a switch to turn the drain off.  After we turned the drain off, we had to fill up the font with pitchers of water until a member showed up with a big-as cooler, which really sped the process up. Here are a couple of pics from exchanges with Elder Harris, a Zone Leader:

Then on Saturday, Elder Christofferson and I were tracting, and we started to smell some smoke; we paid it no mind until we saw the smoke was coming from right around the corner.  So, we headed over and saw a bush fire that was right next to a couple of houses, and there were people who had garden hoses out keeping the fire at bay.  So, we took a hose and a shovel and started to help until the Fire Department showed up and took over.  Good service opportunity.

Sad to say no pictures of these events.. I've just got different ones.
